Dear Residents,
Raanana is one of Israel’s leading cities in the field of quality of life and environmental protection and its municipal philosophy promotes sustainability as a way of life.
In this spirit, the municipality has undertaken to work according to the principles of sustainability, while protecting natural resources and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It continually strives to improve the residents’ quality of life and to protect their health and welfare and that of coming generations.
As part of this policy, and in cooperation with the Environmental Protection Ministry, we are launching a municipal garbage separation campaign. The municipality is currently beginning to implement the process in the first neighborhood, and it will gradually expand its activity to include all regions of the city. The separation of garbage will enable us to increase the scope of recycling of wet waste, turning it into organic fertilizer or natural gas, and the dry waste will be used to produce recycled products.
The garbage separation revolution will gradually grow to include all the city’s households, schools, public institutions, offices and businesses throughout the city and will place Raanana among the most progressive cities in the world in the field of the treatment of waste.
I see our residents as full partners in this endeavor and welcome their involvement, commitment and contribution to the city, in order to attain a municipal quality of life that is one of the highest in Israel.
I call upon all residents to join this endeavor on behalf of Raanana’s quality of life and environment, for our sakes and the sake of future generations.
Sincerely yours,
Nahum Hofree
