SUCCOT EVENTS IN RAANANA

Music and dance performances along Ahuza Street, singing, Lego Contests, and more – a wide variety of activities during Chol Hamoed

The Raanana Municipality will hold a variety of events for its residents during the Succot holiday.

• The City Succah –
Carlebach Holiday Service, with the Kinor David Synagogue, Friday, 24.9.10 from 17:30-19:00.
Oneg Shabbat with Rabbi Tzvi Koren and Deputy Mayor Aryeh Friedman, Friday, 24.9.10 from 21:30-23:30.
Singing with Saraleh Sharon and Children of the Batei Hatalmid.  The two music performances that have become an annual tradition in Raanana will be held on Sunday, 26.9.10 at 10:00 and 11:00 in the morning at the Yad LaBanim Plaza.  Over 800 children from the Batei Hatalmid after-school programs will be in attendance.  The public is invited to come and take part in this colorful event.
Children’s Play –“The Succah of Peace”– Pesifas Theater, Sunday, 26.9.10 at 17:00 -18:30.
Yemima Workshop – Led by Orna Sela.  Sunday, 26.9.10 from 19:30 - 21:00.
Rabbi Kobi Passal hosts the IDF Chief Rabbi, Rafi Peretz, who will speak on “The Army – The Melting Pot of Israeli Society”, Sunday, 26.9.10 at 21:00 – 22:00.
Storytelling in the City Succah – with Tzippy the Storyteller – Monday, 27.9.10 at 10:00 and 11:00.
Music and Dancing in the City – Jewish Music.  Monday, 27.9.10 From 17:00 to 20:00.
Symposium:  “Beautification or Majesty – Excellence vs. Equality,” with Rabbi Tzvi Koren with Rabbi David Stav, City Council woman Bella Tzur, Dalik Volinitz and Ariel Horowitz.  Monday, 27.9.10 from 21:00-22:30.
Arts and Crafts in the City Succah – Art workshop – Tuesday, 28.9.10 at 10:00 and 12:00.
Hoshana Raba Eve – An experiential evening of study for youth.  Tuesday, 28.9.10, From 21:00 – 23:00.

Music and Dancing in the City – Music and Dancing Along Ahuza Street – For parents, children and the entire family – Monday, 27.9.10 from 17:00 to 19:00.
This unique event offers all Raanana residents the opportunity to enjoy street music and dance performances, in which children and youth take part, who are involved in Raanana’s Supplementary Education programs.  The event will be held at various points across the city:  The Shoshan Center – Flutes Around the World; Aroma Café Plaza – a Latin Cuban ensemble; Pozin Center -  Dance Stage; Discount Bank Plaza – Soul Music; Tan’ami Plaza (133 Ahuza) – Drummers’ Circle and Yad LaBanim Plaza – Jewish Music.

Hi-tech, Science and Art Day at Eshkol Hapayis:  Raanana children are invited to take part in a variety of workshops held on Monday, 27.9.10 from 9:00 to 13:00.  Preschool – 3rd Grade:  “Science and Fable”; “Young Builders”; “Digital Album”; “Young Artists”; “Robots”; and a lecture on animals – “The Magical World of Animals”.  Grades 4 – 8: “Photoshop”; “Aeronautics and Space”; “Dungeons and Dragons”; “Mediation and Law”; “Young Doctors: and an exciting lecture on the magic of cinema – “Wonderful Communication”.  Tickets:  NIS 40 for two workshops and the experiential lecture.  Tickets may be purchased at Eshkol Hapayis:  09-7742515.

Succot from Lego Beautiful Lego Succah building contest:  Tuesday, 17:00 to 20:00 at the Beit Hanoar Plaza – 157 Ahuza Street.
The participants will build Succot from one hundred thousand pieces of Lego of all shapes and colors – winners will be awarded prizes.

Shuli Rand in Concert“Nekuda Tova” – Shuli Rand hosts Erez Lev Ari in an exciting concert highlighting his special personality and melodies that reflect the inner Jewish spark in us all.  Saturday night, 25.9.10 at 21:00 in the Raanana Park Amphitheater.  Discount tickets for Raanana residents:  09-7610380.

• “Ushpizin” – Avraham Fried hosts David D’or and Boaz Sharabi – Monday 27.9.10 at 20:00 in the Raanana Park Amphitheater.

Succot Activities for Youth

Rock Band Evening – Thursday, 23.9.10 at 22:00 at the HaMartef Club.  The Culture Division Band, Shir Deutsch and Elisha Banai will perform.  Tickets:  NIS 20 advance sales; NIS 30 on the day of the event.

Let’s Talk About It – Youth discussion evening on the topic of “Social Justice” sponsored by the Municipal Youth Council, and hosted by “Gesher Educational Projects”.  Sunday, 26.9.10 at 19:00 at the Municipal Youth Center located in the Hanesi’im Park.

Midnight Movie – Monday, 27.9.10 at 24:00 at the Park Cinema.  Information about the film will be available on the Youth and Young Adult Department FaceBook, on the Municipal Website and at the Municipal Moked 107.  Tickets:  NIS 15 at the cinema box-office from 16:00.  Places are limited.

Pool Party – Night swimming and a performance by Yuval Meron (Yuvie from Kochav Nolad 8), D.J. Brians – Tuesday, 28.9.10, at 21:30 at the Municipal Swimming Pool.  Tickets:  NIS 20 at the swimming pool box office.

Dialogue in Darkness:  The Israel Children’s Museum – a guided tour in total darkness, led by blind guides.  Monday, 27.9.10, departure at 14:30 from the Municipal Youth Center located in the Hanesi’im Park.  Tickets:  NIS 30, including transportation and entrance.  Registration:  Youth and Young Adults Department: 09-7610711.
