At meetings held in the Golden Age Club, various environmental topics will be discussed and professional tips will be given for a healthy and environmentally friendly lifestyle

The Raanana Municipality is launching a new unique course, which deals with current environmental topics using the cinematic media.  This is the joint initiative of the Municipal Sustainability Administration, the Golden Age Club, the Ecolnoa Association, the Environmental Protection Ministry and the Regional Environmental Protection Division.

This series of sessions will include screening of films as well as lectures and discussions with the best professional experts, demonstrations of environmental solutions from Israel and around the world.  Participants will also be given the opportunity to take part in producing an environmental project.

The new course is another step in Raanana’s extensive activity as a sustainable city, in order to encourage the community to adopt lifestyles, behavioral patterns and habits that are considerate of our perishable natural resources, our flora and fauna and our residential surroundings.

The course will include ten exciting sessions.  Among the topics discussed:
Screening of the film, “Home”, and a discussion regarding the climate crisis and its implications, with Professor Danni Rabinowitz, anthropologist from Tel Aviv University; screening of the short film “The Story of Objects”, and a discussion on consumer culture with Rohan Snir, advertising and environmental information specialist; screening of the film “Garbage=Food” and a discussion on clean industry and vision; “Zero Garbage” with Yair Engel, designer and CEO of Kayama – The Center for Sustainable Planning and Design; screening of the film “Gold Blue” and a discussion on the state of Israel’s water supply and the privatization of water around the world with Ehud Leshem, environmental health engineer; and screening of the film “Food Ltd.”, including a discussion on environment and food with Dr. Jeremy Benstein, Heschel Center – The Israel Institute for Environmental Thinking and Leadership.
