:Dozens of children of new immigrants and their families celebrating their first Rosh Hashanah in Israel participated in an “Apple and Honey” Event, organized for them by the Informal Education Administration’s Supplementary Education Division of the Raanana Municipality, in cooperation with the absorption center and the Ministry of Absorption and sponsored by the municipal absorption department and the “Road Safety Headquarters”.

: The traditional community event was held at the Raanana Absorption Center and attended by new Olim at the Absorption Center and from across the city as well as children attending the Bilu and Ziv Elementary School’s after school program, who came to celebrate with the new immigrants.
Deputy Mayor Aryeh Friedman, Director of the Informal Education Administration, welcomed the new immigrants and noted that the Supplementary Education Division has hired many educators who themselves are immigrants to Israel.
The event opened with a performance by Efrochei Raanana – Pitzponim; the Supplementary Education 2010 Troupe, also performing were Pirchei Raanana and the students of the violin class at the Young Music Center, who played the Naomi Shemer song “The Honey and the Sting”.
Members of the Children’s Parliament and TZAMERET presented the new immigrants with an apple and honey.
After the holidays, a Hebrew language ulpanit will be opened at the New Community Center for the new immigrants focused on “Theater Arts in Easy Hebrew”, details at the Supplementary Education Division and at Ziv Beit Hatalmid.
