It demonstrated superior performance in operating its state of emergency program

This morning, the National Home Front Command Exercise was conducted, as a joint effort of the government ministries and local authorities. The exercise was designed to evaluate and improve the readiness of the organizations to cope with states of emergency and their ability to provide solutions on the civilian front, during different emergency scenarios.

The municipality operated an emergency headquarters, in the municipal war room, in cooperation with the Home Front Command, the Israel Police, the fire fighters and Magen David Adom.  All the organizations worked in concert to provide a response to a missile attack scenario, prepared by the Home Front Command.  Educational and welfare institutions practiced going down into shelters and into protective spaces, evacuating and rescuing wounded, providing solutions to blocked roads, etc.  Volunteers from among the city’s residents assisted the municipality with this exercise.

The Raanana Municipality is constantly working and investing resources in preparation for any and all threats and scenarios.  The municipality, including its entire staff, demonstrated a high level of performance in the preparation of the exercise, and a superior ability to provide the necessary assistance to residents.

Information regarding the exercise and the municipality’s preparations was regularly updated on the municipal website, which works both routinely and during an emergency and supplies up-to-date information in both Hebrew and English.

At the completion of the exercise, this year, as in years past, the Municipality received high praise for its management and execution of the exercise.

The Raanana Municipality wishes to thank all the people who worked hard during the year in creating a response system for the municipality.  Thanks to the Raanana residents who enlisted to help in this municipal effort.  The municipality invites additional residents to join and take an active part in assisting the community in a state of emergency.
