The athletes train in handball teams organized by the Supplementary Education Division’s Batei Hatalmid, in cooperation with the Macabi Raanana Handball Department directed by Rafi Ben Ezra.

The event was attended by Mayor Nahum Hofree, who congratulated the young athletes and their parents on the players’ good sportsmanship and emphasized that “the extracurricular sports activities enable children to maximize their talents and express the municipal philosophy of promoting physical fitness among its residents.”

Tournament Winners:
Dekel Elementary School won first place for grades 2-3
Shaked Elementary School won second place for grades 2-3
Hadar Elementary School won first place for grades 4-6
Hayovel Elementary School won second place for grades 4-6
Yavneh Elementary School won third place for grades 4-6

The field of basketball is developing at Raanana’s Batei Hatalmid.  The activities are run by a team of coaches, and include training, competitions, games and the children meet leading players in the field.
