A new exhibition – Pastel Landscapes – by Artist Menahem Halif – will open at Raanana’s Gallery By the Lake.

Menahem Halif, one of Israel’s virtuoso sketch artists, will present pastels that depict the pastoral Sharon landscapes, that are gradually disappearing. He intentionally ignores the modern urban acceleration, the concrete slabs, asphalt highways, and the dense population.

The old-timers will recognize specific places in his paintings, which today look different.  Menahem Halif received an honorable mention at the International Biennial Pastel Exhibition held in Poland and is a member of the “French Union of Pastel Artists”.

The official opening will be held on Saturday night, 15.5.10 at 19:30, and will be attended by Mayor Nahum Hofree and Deputy Mayor Ronit Weintraub – director of the Culture Youth and Leisure Division.
