: Hundreds of students from all of the city’s elementary schools will take to the streets on Friday, 28.5.10, from 9:00 – 11:00 to spend a special morning at Raanana’s historical landmarks, with stories that will include presentations, experiential demonstrations and historical stories. This is the highlight of the program –“Adopt a Landmark – The Story of the Moshava” run at the city’s schools.
This program is in its 2nd successful year and is an initiative of the elementary and middle school education department, and is conducted at the city’s 12 elementary schools.
4th graders adopt landmarks close by to their school, as part of a program called “My City Raanana”. They learn the history of the site, meet with Raanana old-timers and visit the site and its environs. This experiential learning culminates in this special event in which the students explain to the community, parents and visitors about the heritage of the landmark they adopted.
Ziv Elementary School will be the first school to present this Friday, from 9:00 to 11:00 at the landmark they adopted - The Small Forest.
