: including Yehudit Ravitz, Gidi Gov and Barry Sakharov, alongside Raanana's children – dancers from the Raanana Dance Academy who put on an amazing performance in honor of Israel's 60 years of independence. At the Moshava stage, many residents took part in an evening of public singing and folk dancing which included the best of Israel's beautiful melodies.
1,500 dance students, members of the city's Supplementary Education 2010 dance and entertainment troupes took part in the traditional Shalom Amar Dance Parade, along Ahuza Street, held on Yom Ha'atsmaut. Two dance groups from Argentina, "Meholot" from Rosario and "Regesh" from Buenos Aires, joined in the parade. The 50 guest dancers were offered warm hospitality at the homes of the city's residents and even participated in the Holocaust Remembrance Day and the IDF Fallen Soldiers Remembrance Day ceremonies.
The dance academy dancers performed the famous Israeli folkdances which are mainstays of our Israeli culture and saluted the choreographers who have contributed to Israeli dance since the establishment of the State of Israel until today. The school dance troupes danced alongside the guest dance troupes to Israeli folksongs.
In addition to the dancers, members of sports teams, new immigrants, Jewish freedom fighters and partisans, members of volunteer organizations and 100 representatives of Argentinean sports clubs joined in the parade.
The Yom Ha'atsmaut events were concluded with a spectacular concert at Raanana's amphitheater. The festive concert was a tribute to the song composer, Nurit Hirsch, and featured the Raanana Symphonette, and guest artists: Liel Kolet, Ilanit, Ze'ev Revach, Harel Skaat, Yizhar Cohen and the Vocal Octet who performed Hirsch's songs.
