Dozens of dog owners came to the special event at the new park in the Lev Hapark neighborhood, which includes playground equipment, sitting areas, and drinking fountains for animals

The Raanana Municipality officially opened its new dog park in the Lev Hapark neighborhood at the corner of Weizman and Hasaifan Streets.  The park spans an area of 300 square meters and includes playground equipment for dogs, park benches, a garbage can, a Dog Poop Bag Station, a drinking fountain for dogs, trees and plants.

Dozens of dog owners, accompanied by their pets, came to the special event last week to officially open the new park, attended by Mayor Nahum Hofree, City Manager Amir Shutzman, City Councilwoman, Bella Tzur and other officials.

The dog park is the second such park.  The first one is located at the Gandel Park located at the corner of Golomb and Eliezer Jaffe Streets and is very popular.  The Raanana Municipality decided to expand the service and to allocate an additional park, for the benefit of the residents.

During the event, the animals were given a gift – a collar with the quote “I am a member of the Dog Parliament” and a dog snack.  There was also a trained dog act and a performance given by the Municipal Youth Orchestra from the Music Center, which played a medley of dog and animal tunes.
