Recently, the Raanana Municipality held a conference for 100 of its volunteers as a tribute to their activity.

The meeting, called “Morning Service for Volunteers” was held at the Museum of Raanana History and brought together volunteers who take an active part in 19 different organizations and institutions in Raanana.

The conference was designed to expand the common denominator and strengthen the ties between the different volunteers and during the conference each volunteer described the goals of his or her organization.  During the event, the head of the Open University’s Political Science, Sociology and Communications Director volunteered to speak about the connection between volunteer activity and social change.  The volunteers were also treated to a delicious breakfast donated by the Ruach Tova Association.

Mayor Nahum Hofree:  “Raanana’s philosophy views volunteering as a central value that guides our educational and community activity.  We are proud of the residents who give of themselves to help others.”
