At the most recent city council meeting last week, Raanana Mayor Nahum Hofree presented certificates of honor to three security patrolmen, Hod Wilenchok, Gil Deviri and Tal Kleiner, Commander of the police southern district, Asaf Vadai and the volunteer, Raanana resident, Nir Harman, who recently caught suspects, “red handed”, in an attempt to break and enter and steal from one of the city’s homes.

The mayor thanked the people involved for their efforts and actions that help maintain the security and safety of the city’s residents and praised the fruitful cooperation between the municipality and the police.

The case transpired three weeks ago in the afternoon hours, when a Raanana resident approached the police station responsible for the city’s southern sector and reported a suspect car near her residence.

Pursuant to the report, security patrols and the police were dispatched to the site and after thirty minutes of observations and monitoring of the suspect vehicle, two suspects were apprehended who were sitting in the car.  Concurrently, two suspecgts were identified on the roof of one of the buildings on the street and they were brought down and arrested by the security patrolmen and the police.  After their arrest, many items were located by the door to the house.  The four suspects, residents of the Sharon in their twenties, were transferred for arrest to the police that is investigating their involvement in other burglaries.
