32 students celebrated the completion of the Bat Mitzvah Program at a moving school event

32 students from Raanana’s Bilu Elementary School celebrated the completion of the Bat Mitzvah Program, offered at the school, at a moving event held at the school.

The Bat Mitzvah program is a school tradition, in which all the sixth grade girls take part.  As part of this project, the students study about the commandments related to women in Judaism, the Jewish home and they learned about key female figures during the time of the Bible and in modern times.  Each student also prepared a final paper on one of these figures who influenced history.

At the event, which was held in the presence of Mayor Nahum Hofree, the mothers each prepared a personal and moving message to each of their daughters.  These messages were hung on the wall of the school gym, where the event was held.  The daughters also prepared a gift for their mothers during the event – a photo album with messages  from the students to their mothers.
