As always towards Passover, synagogues in Raanana are making preparations together with Raanana Municipality to distribute food parcels totaling over half a million shekels. The money has been collected from the congregations of the participating synagogues.

The food parcels contain matzos, wine, sugar, oil, flour, soup powder, coffee and tea, canned goods, and chickens, purchased in bulk at reduced prices from wholesalers.

The municipality also holds a telephone campaign, with a personal appeal by Mayor Nachum Hofri to the residents, and by means of the 107 municipal hotline, asking for financial contributions to the campaign and volunteer help with the distribution.

Students from all the schools in the town and IDF soldiers will help pack and distribute the products. Each battalion that "enlists" in the campaign will receive food parcels to be distributed to needy families of soldiers throughout the country.

Packing and distributing the parcels will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, March 17-18.
Residents wanting to help distribute the parcels are invited to come to Heichal Binyamin Synagogue in Katzin St.
