The expansion of services will include:  searching the on-line library catalogue (according to author, title, subject, key words or by advance search), details and information regarding the list of books borrowed from the library, ordering books in advance and receiving an e-mail when the book is available, and extending the deadline for the book on-line (subject to the waiting list for that particular book).

The municipal library offers a wide selection of over 100,000 books, including reference books, classics, bestsellers and books in a variety of languages, such as English, French, German, Yiddish and Russian.

This month, the municipal library is organizing a variety of events to mark Raanana’s book celebration and “On the Wings of Imagination” Festival.  These include “Reading Coffee” – a meeting with authors Eshkol Nevo, Alon Hilo and Yochi Brandeis; a symposium of authors, and exhibitions in cooperation with the Municipal Gallery – “Legends and Myths” by artist Dennis Shifrin and “Authors and Poets – Portraits” by artist Yael Shachar Sarid.

Mayor Nahum Hofree:  “Raanana is constantly investing efforts in expanding and improving its services in all fields of municipal activity.  The Municipal Library’s new service is another milestone in our activity as a smart city, in order to offer information and services in the residents’ homes, providing access and technological means in order to receive services and information.”
