An impressive achievement for the girls in light athletics – Second place in the tournament and a new national record in the 80 meter race

Raanana’s Hasharon Middle School has recorded many athletic achievements in volleyball and light athletics for girls.

The girls’ volleyball team won first place in the national middle school championship held at the Beit Shean Regional Council.  At the end of a series of tough and intensive games in the eights, quarter and semi finals, the team won the final game against Kfar Saba’s Bar Lev team 3:1 and won the championship!

The team of 14 players study in the school’s sports class, trained by Orit Slonim.  Members of the class may later continue in the Ostrovsky High schools volleyball team.  They regularly train at the school and at the city’s excellence center.

Last week, members of the Municipal Sports Authority and the school sports department at the municipality awarded a badge of honor to the team’s coach for the team’s achievements.

Another impressive achievement was reached by the girls light athletic team, trained by Esther Roth-Sahmorov and Wilhelm Loax.  At the national competition held in Hadar Yosef, the team came in second – for the group category after reaching high places in broad jump, high jump and hurling competitions.

Another impressive achievement for the team:  Athlete Tali Yochai is the national champion in the 80 meter race coming in with a record time of 10.95 seconds!
