According to the orders of the Ministry of the Interior and the Administrative Offences Law, 1985 and the administrative offenses regulations (administrative fine – rabies and dog supervision), the new rate for the fines have been set for the areas of dog maintenance.

New fine rates:
Fine for stray dog:  NIS 500
Fine for dangerous stray dog:  NIS 1,500
Fine for not restraining the mouth of a dangerous dog:  NIS 1,000
Fine for not vaccinating the dog annually:  NIS 1,500
Fine for holding a dog without a yearly license:  NIS 500
Fine for holding a dangerous dog without a yearly license:  NIS 5,000
Fine for not confining a dog that bites:  NIS 2,000
Fine for not reporting a change in the dog’s address, its death or its being given or transferred to someone else: NIS 250

In recent months, the Department of Veterinary Services in Raanana has issued 200 tickets to Raanana dog owners for these violations.

Municipal inspectors patrol the city’s streets and enforce the law, with the close cooperation of the Department of Veterinary Services.
