3rd graders play with the Raanana young symphony as part of the school’s music studies program

Last week, 76 3rd grade students at Dekel School participated in a joint concert with members of the Raanana Young Symphony at the school’s sports hall, as part of the school’s music studies program.

For the 2nd consecutive year, a successful music studies program has been offered at the school in which 2nd -3rd grade students study to play a string instrument (violin, viola and cello).  The program is taught in cooperation with the municipal music center and the professional teachers of the municipal music center.  Lessons are held in small groups and are part of the school’s curriculum “We Can Hear You Are from Dekel” and express the philosophy that promotes achievement and positive climate at the school through music.

The concert was attended by Mayor Nahum Hofree and Deputy Mayor Ronit Weintraub, director of Culture, Youth and Leisure Division as well as representatives of the Education Ministry and parents of the students.  The students and the young symphony musicians performed six classical pieces for the audience.

In March, another concert is scheduled at the school with the participation of 2nd grade students.

Mayor Nahum Hofree:  “These musical studies are an opportunity to enrich the cultural world of the younger generation and act as an educational opportunity to empower the children and provide them with the essential tools to live up to their potential in any field they wish.”
