Shiatsu Treatments and Delicious Breakfasts were part of the unique activities offered to Raanana’s educational teams on ‘Educators’ Day’

Last week, the Raanana Municipality paid tribute to teachers on ‘Educators’ Day – 2010’ with a series of events and activities to empower the status of the teacher in the municipal education system.  Educators’ Day is the first of its kind, initiated by the Education Ministry and this year’s theme is the ‘educational approach of Yanosh Korschak’.

Over 2,000 school and preschool teachers took part in this unique day that included a variety of activities in cooperation with the parent committees and student councils.  For example, at Hasharon Middle School the parents organized an event entitled “In Good Hands”, that included a giant presentation with the title “At Hasharon, we are in good hands” designed from photographs of the teachers’ hands, and sentences of empowerment and appreciation.  Parents and student council members presented each teacher with a flower as they entered the school and an album of letters of appreciation prepared by the students.  The teachers also enjoyed a delicious breakfast.

At Dekel Elementary School, the school administration and parents committee surprised the teaching staff with individual Shiatsu and reflexology treatments at the school, in a relaxed atmosphere, complete with candles, aromas and music.  Moreover, hot drinks and cakes baked by the parents were served.

Teachers at Yonatan Middle School were served a delicious breakfast prepared for them especially by the parents. The student council gave lessons in the classes on the subject of Yanosh Korschak, and teachers were presented with bouquets of flowers and personal cards.  At the end of the day, the teachers were treated to a performance by Rolanda Shagran.

At Shaked Elementary School, teachers were treated to a fascinating lecture on the subject of humor and laughter, as well as a delicious breakfast in their honor prepared by the parents committee.  All the students wrote personal letters to their teachers.  Two events were organized for the end of the Educators’ Day at Eshkol Hapayis, in the afternoon and evening, for the school and preschool teachers.  The events were also attended by the mayor and director of the education division, education ministry inspectors and other guests.

Mayor Nahum Hofree:  “Educators’ Day is an opportunity to thank the thousands of Raanana teachers who the very important role of educating our children.  The municipal education system will continue to empower the status of the teacher and promote his position and create a warm and safe educational atmosphere at the school.”
