The Raanana Municipality will feature a unique festival for the first time, dedicated to women’s place in culture and will include a variety of performances, plays, lectures and workshops

For the first time, the Raanana Municipality will hold a festival dedicated to women and their place in culture, in February – March 2010.  The unique festival will include an exciting program of plays, performances, lectures and workshops dealing with various issues from the world of women and related to women.

This festival is part of the municipal investment in the development and expansion of the field of art in the city and expresses the municipal philosophy of promoting women’s activity in various areas of life.

The festival’s events will be held at the HaMishkan Center for Music and Arts, Yad Labanim, the Municipal Library, Beit Hanoar, the Golden Age Club and the HaMartef Club for teens.

Among the Events

Tuesday, 23.2.10, 21:00:  “Invitation to a Wedding” at the HaMishkan Center for Music and Arts:  Theatrical stand-up, a moving musical performance with quality theater.  The musical ensemble – “Women of Eve” with their new contemporary Jewish music.  Actress Limor Yitzchayek will portray a variety of female characters with humor, integrating personal material from her childhood, motherhood, etc.

Leading theater plays at Yad Labanim:  “Branja and Anda by Beit Lessin and the Vagina Monologues by Habima Theater.

Sunday, 14.2.10, 20:30:  “The Thing Was This” – Author Meir Shalev is a guest of the Lazar Municipal Library to launch his new book.

Monday, 1.2.10, 15:30:  a film and lecture at the Golden Age Club; Japanese Look at Women and Men.  Lecturer:  Anthropologist and cultural researcher, Ayelet Eidelberg.

Thursday, 11.2.10, 20:00:  Artist Workshop with Efrat Gosh at the HaMartef club: An experiential meeting with one of the most prominent singers and artists in recent years.

Friday, 5.2.10, 11:00, Fathers and Daughters, the psychological complexity and significance of this relationship in literature, science and art.  Lecturer:  Dr. Yitzchak Harari, clinical psychologist and literature researcher.

Sunday, 10.2.10, 18:30-22:00:  Sex, Pralines and Chocolate – A Sweet Workshop run by chocalatier, Tali Levi – interactive experience including preparing pralines, and stories of the history of chocolate, and the connection between chocolate and sex, etc.

Tuesday, 18.2.10, 19:00:  Styling Workshop – What Not to Wear with Yuval Caspin.
