31.1.10 – 14.2.10

A new exhibition has opened at Raanana’s Gallery By the Lake, entitled “Rock and Jazz on Canvas” by artists Glen Shear and Milton Frank.

Glen Shear’s paintings give a platform to mundane objects as well as objects related to holy and spiritual values.  He grew up in Canada and spent many years in the U.S.  Glen moved to Israel with his family nine years ago.  Rock n’ roll music has had an important impact on Glen’s teenage years and this series of paintings is a tribute to the hit songs of the leading bands.

Milton David Frank is oil on canvas painter – he paints unique expressive portraits of the great Jazz and Blues artists.  Milton’s creative process began in his twenties, inspired by two live performances by Miles Davis.  Born in the U.S., Milton has exhibited and sold his art at exhibitions across the U.S.  He moved to Israel three years ago with his wife and two sons and lives in Raanana.   He continues to work in Israel ad is inspired by the new culture.  Milton is recognized by the Cultural Ministry as an ‘outstanding artist’.

The grand opening will take place on 1.2.10 at 19:00 and attended by Mayor Nahum Hofree and Deputy Mayor Ronit Weintraub, director of the Culture, Youth and Leisure Division.

Gallery By the Lake is located at 10 Derech Hapark Street, Raanana.
Hours:  Sundays-Fridays:  11.00 to 22:00 and Saturdays from 10:00 to 22:00.
