Dozens of members of Raanana’s TZAMERET, which is affiliated with the Supplementary Education Division and JAFI, participated in and led workshops at the 30th Annual National Zionist Youth Congress in Israel.

The national congress was held in Ashdod, and youth from Israel and abroad participated in the congress, discussing current Zionist topics, such as encouraging youth to assume meaningful positions in the IDF; reducing violence among young people and participation of the young people in informal education frameworks.

Three of the Raanana TZAMERET members, students at Aviv High School, led workshops at the congress on different topics.  Raanana’s Tagel Komei, president of the national TZAMERET Organization , hosted the event and called upon youth to support Zionist education, to work to reduce violence and consumption of alcohol and to assume important roles in their IDF service.

The IDF Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Gabi Ashkenazi, who attended the event, spoke with the young people and answered their questions. The event was concluded with a performance by the Education Corps. Entertainment Troupe.

Raanana’s TZAMERET branch is currently recruiting new members – information is available at the Supplementary Education Division.

Mayor Nahum Hofree:  “I am proud of our youth, which is involved, caring and believes in its ability to take part in social processes, out of its sense of Zionist commitment and desire to make an impact and lead to changes in the community and the society as a whole.”
