: The second meeting will be held on Sunday, 21.2.10 at 16:30 at the Open University – Subject: “New Labor Laws – Who Wins and Who Loses?” The Raanana Municipality in cooperation with the Open University and the Raanana Conference for National Hi-Tech Policy, will organize this year’s 3rd annual Raanana Conference for National Hi-tech Policy. In preparation for the main conference to be held this October, there will be bi-monthly meetings held at the Raanana Open University.
The first session was held last December, and this month, the second session will be held on the subject of “New Labor Laws – Who Wins and Who Loses?”
The session is scheduled for Sunday, 21.2.10 at 16:30 at the Open University. At this bi-monthly session, a discussion will be held on the different face of the new labor legislation and its significance for the hi-tech industries and its employees.
The conference will be attended by Mayor Nahum Hofree and Chairman of the Raanana Conference, Prof. Aryeh Scope; as well as Chairman of the Knesset Hi-tech Committee, MK Robert Ilatov; Open University’s Management and Economics Department’s organizational behavior expert – Dr. Aviad Bar Haim; Mellanox CEO Eyal Waldman, Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce President, Attorney Uriel Lynn; CEO of Matrix Group’s John Bryce Training , Ziv Mandel; new Histadrut Chairman, Ofer Eini and Former Minister and MK Ofir Paz Pines. The conference will be hosted by former Israel Ports and Railways Authority CEO Amos Ron, the Raanana Conference’s assistant chairman.
That same day, before the conference is opened, Mayor Nahum Hofree and CEOs of Raanana’s hi-tech companies will meet with MK Robert Ilatov, Professor Aryeh Scope and Open University vice president to discuss the role of the hi-tech lobby in the Knesset, legislation initiatives and legislation reforms on various subjects.
The chairman of the Raanana Conference is Professor Aryeh Scope, former CEO of Microsoft Israel and the members of the conference steering committee are: ASG CEO and founder of the Raanana Conference, Aryeh Gradman; Director General of the Israel Association of Electronic & Software Industries, Shlomo Waxe; Chief Scientist, Dr. Shuki Gleitman; Owner of Kalanit-Carmon, Moshe Alon; CEO of SAP Israel, Mickie Steiner; Former CEO of the Israel Ports and Railway Authority, Amos Ron, and other senior figures in the world of hi-tech. In recent years, Raanana has attracted Israel’s major hi-tech companies to relocate their headquarters to the city, and for the past two years, it has hosted the national hi-tech policy conference, that focuses on shaping the future of Israel’s advanced industries. At these conferences, many key figures were in attendance, who are influential in Israel’s fields of economy, government, military as well as hi-tech company leaders.
