The Raanana Municipality has organized a variety of Chanukah events for the entire family.

“Light and Sounds” – A musical event at the Young Music Center:  Thursday, 10.12.09 at 17:00
A musical event designed for parents and children aged 4-10, includes a teachers’ concert, student performance, musical show and an experiential activity.
Price:  NIS 15 per child.

Chanukef – Chanukah Camp for the City’s Children:  13.12.09 – 17.12.09
The traditional Chanukah camp, which is organized by the Informal Education Administration’s Supplementary Education Division, will run from 13.12.09 to 17.12.09 from 8:00 to 13:00.  For those who are interested, there will also be an afternoon program between 13:00 and 16:00.
The holiday camp will be operated at the Dekel, Hayovel, Ziv, Yavneh and Shaked School Batei Hatalmid and is open to children in kindergarten (gan chova) and grades 1-4.  It includes a snack and a rich program of activities:  “Hercules”, a children’s play with Rotem Abuav, Michael Louis, Roni Duani, Kobi Mahat; a drummers’ circle; a chocolate festival; Chanukah arts and crafts and “Champion of Champions” Sports Day.
The Dekel Beit Hatalmid will offer a basketball camp for grades 3-6.

The Renana Choir Hosts Raanana’s Singing Troupe:  Wednesday, 16.12.09 at 20:30
The Renana Choir, conducted by Menashe Levran will sing and host the Raanana Singing Troupe in honor of Chanukah.  The show will be held at the Yad LaBanim Heichal Hatarbut.
Price:  NIS 35.

Born to Dance Festival:  Friday, 18.12.09 at 11:00 – The Municipal Sports Arena
The Supplementary Education 2010 Dance Troupe Festival will include performances by the dance troupes and students of Raanana’s school’s dance departments. This year features guest celebrities:  Sharon Elimelech (host, actress, singer); Niels Van Der Stan (dancer, choreograph from Holland); Claude Didier (choreograph, judge on Dancing with the Stars TV show); Dana Parnas (dancer and judge on Dancing with the Stars) and Shlomo Maman (artistic director of the Carmiel Festival)

“Happy Chanukah” at the Municipal Swimming Pool:  Tuesday, 15.12.09 at 17:30
Raanana residents are invited to a colorful and fun candle lighting ceremony on the 5th candle of Chanukah at the Municipal Swimming Pool.  Mayor Nahum Hofree will be in attendance.  At the end of the ceremony, doughnuts will be distributed to the participants.
Throughout the Chanukah holiday, there will be a candle lighting ceremony in the lobby of the pool at 17:30.

“Raanana – Intimate Rock” –   at the HaMishkan Center for Music and the Arts:  Barry Saharof – Acoustic,  Wednesday, 16.12.09 at 21:00
Barry Saharof and Zohar Fresco, international percussionist, in an intimate performance of Barry’s greatest hits.

Shalom Hanoch and Moshe Levi “Exit” -  Saturday Night, 19.12.09 at 21:00
Shalom Hanoch and his musical partner of many years, Moshe Levi, in an intimate performance of  Shalom Hanoch’s greatest hits.  The vast amount of songs and the unique musical quality make this a one-of-a-kind performance.

The Art Center’s Artists Exhibition at the Gallery By the Lake -    15.12.09 – 30.12.09
About 200 artists from the Municipal Art Center will present their work at an exhibition of art from various fields:  painting, sculpture, ceramics, integrated arts and recycled art.  Curator:  Chava Perry.
The grand opening will be on Thursday, 17.12.09 at 19:00 and attended by Mayor Nahum Hofree and Informal Education Administration’s Deputy Mayor Aryeh Friedman.
Gallery By the Lake is located at 10 Derech Hapark, Raanana.  Hours :  Sunday – Thursday from 11:00 to 14:00; 17:00 to 20:00; Fridays from 10:00 to 14:00 and Saturdays from 11:00 to 20:00.
