Independence Day

The Raanana Municipality is organizing a wide variety of colorful holiday events for Israel’s 62nd Independence Day.  This year's events will be held at a number of stations across the city and will include the best performances for the public at large.

YOM HA’ATZMAUT EVE:  19.4.10

The Children’s Stage – On the Raanana Park lawn, 20:30:  The Pninei Hasharon Entertainment Troupe will sing and host the Children’s Channel star, Meirav Feldman and the Shminiya and Michael Lewis, actor and winner of Dancing with Stars; the 2010 Supplementary Education Dance Troupes, and the winning songs from the 19th annual children’s song festival.

Main Stage – On the Raanana Park lawn, 22:00:  Raanana Dance Academy, Tislam, Lior Farchi.

Youth Stage - On the Raanana Park lawn, from 01:00: Hadag Nachash, Hakartel, Mercedes Bend, and the winners of the youth bands competition:  the Britannia Band and Hani Lerner.

The Moshava Stage:  Yad LaBanim Plaza, 21:30: An evening of Israeli music hosted by Tzlil Biran and the Gaya band:  “Beautiful Canaan Nights”,  folk-dancing led by Yankeleh Ziv.

Hassidic Music Stage:  The Raanana Park Roller Rink, 22:00:  Dancing with Amiran Dvir and his band, guest performer, Elchai Refuah from Kochav Nolad 7, soul music, Chassidic tunes and folk music, Pirchei Raanana Boys Choir, Renanot  Girls’ Choir.

YOM HA’ATZMAUT DAY:  20.4.10

Dance Parade:  “International Dance Carnival – Different Shades of Israeli Dance:  17:00 along Ahuza Street:  A spectacular parade of 1,500 dancers from the Dance Academy, the elementary schools and Batei Hatalmid Dance troupes, dance departments at the city’s schools, and the 2010 Supplementary Education Dance Troupes.  The parade will also include musical bands, costumes and dancing for the entire family.

Festive Concert – “If We Will Know How to Love” – Motzai Yom Ha’atzmaut, 20:30 in the Raanana Park Amphitheater – Mayor Nahum Hofree invites Raanana residents to a festive reception and concert.  The concert – “If We Will Know How to Love” – will include the favorite love songs of all ages, performed by the Raanana Symphonette, conducted by Ziv Kozoharo and performances by David D’Or, Harel Skat, Karin Shifrin – Sofran.  Hosted by Natan Datner.  Reception begins at 20:00.  Residents may obtain free tickets by presenting their identity card at the Yad LaBanim box office, the Lev Hapark Community Center and the Parks and Recreation Division.
