Raanana’s 14,955 students have recently completed their studies and have begun the long summer vacation. In preparation for the summer vacation, we have put together a rich, attractive and quality program that offers diverse leisure activities for children and youth of all ages and enables each and every one of them to find a program that meets his or her needs and personal tastes and to find a meaningful and enriching way to spend the summer vacation. For the 4th consecutive year, during the summer, there will be 3 sessions of the municipal camps as well as leisure and cultural activities for youth lasting until the wee hours of the morning across the city and at Raanana Park. Once again this year, the program is rich and was developed with a great deal of thought in order to meet the changing needs of our youth and to ensure their safety and security. To this end, we will once again offer a free nighttime shuttle service to and from the activity centers for the benefit of our youth. This month, the Raanana Municipality will hold an Israeli music and dance event in memory of my dear friend, the former deputy mayor, Uzi Cohen, of blessed memory, who passed away two years ago. This is a tribute to a man who dedicated most of his life to the place he loved the most. This month, we will host the 21st annual Klezmer Festival – this year entitled “Love Your Neighbor As Yourself”. This reflects Raanana’s values of giving, tolerance and brotherhood between all sectors of the population. I invite Raanana residents to come to take part in this wonderful musical experience, which brings us close to our Jewish heritage, history and culture and is a heartwarming experience. During the summer, the safety of our children is of the utmost importance. As parents, we are responsible to ensure that our children are aware of the road safety rules and the proper behavior on the roads and the dangers of too much exposure to the sun – to ensure that they spend their summer vacation safely. I wish all our students a happy and safe vacation.
Always at your service
Nahum Hofree Mayor
