: The first program of its kind for the development of technologies and information management designed for outstanding students has opened in Raanana. The program, which is a joint effort of the Raanana Municipality and Ness Technologies, was created for outstanding students at the municipal high schools.
The program's objective is to highlight advanced technologies, in order to develop skills in these areas, including cognitive skills, information and knowledge analysis, discussion, cooperation and problem solving in a society based on knowledge. In the program, students will develop and reinforce their abilities, talents and skills; establish and improve their expertise; acquire new knowledge, increase their familiarity with the use of advanced technology and develop creativity and leadership skills.
The program was developed by the instruction division at Ness Technologies and will be implemented during the next two years. It is designed for students in the tenth and eleventh grades at all of Raanana's schools. The students will be selected by the schools' teaching faculty and will be administered entrance exams designed by Ness Technologies.
As part of the program, students will conduct a final research and development project for each academic year and they will receive a certificate upon completing the program. Additionally, the students will be prepared for a Microsoft IT certification program and will be eligible to take two of the certification programs exams. At the end of the program, Ness Technologies will grant four NIS 4,000 scholarships for outstanding students and eligibility to continue their studies at the IT-Business College, worth an additional NIS 2,000.
Mayor Nahum Hofree noted that "the Raanana Municipality positions education at the top of its list of municipal priorities with an emphasis on systemic and personal excellence. Cooperation with Ness Technologies is an additional step in making this educational and municipal vision, which serves as an example for many cities in Israel, a reality.
Yoav Baruch, Manager of Ness Technologies' Instruction Division: "The program which was created in conjunction with various experts, such as Professor Assa Kasher, Menashe Samira and others, was designed to help bring the next generation closer to the technologies of the future. Raanana is a natural partner for this unique project and it is clear that whoever invests in these students today is ensuring the success of the country in the coming years."
