SONGS WRITTEN AND PERFORMED BY RAANANA'S CHILDREN AT THE "ROOTS OF HOPE" CHILDREN'S SONG FESTIVAL.

IN FIRST PLACE: MEGED ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WITH THE SONG "ROOTS OF HOPE"

In second place: Hayovel Elementary School with the song: "Raanana's Roots"; in third place: Bilu Elementary School with the song: "My Memories"; and in fourth place: Ziv Elementary School with the song: "It's in Her Genes."

Thousands of Raanana residents, school principals, supervisors, educators, guests from the community, musicians and lovers of the performing arts packed the Municipal Sports Auditorium at the four performances of Raanana's Children's Song Festival – whose theme this year was "Roots of Hope".

The young talents from all of the city's schools, accompanied by professionals from the world of music and the stage, appeared in 11 songs, which they created and performed. Uri Kariv was the musical conductor and Benny Harosh was in charge of stage direction and artistic management

Mayor Nahum Hofree welcomed the young singers and the large audience that came to enjoy the performance, which has garnered a good reputation across the country and in which everyone is a winner! "Hundreds of students will perform here today, and will together create an artistic and educational showcase which will teach us all about creativity, acting, singing, music and talent. And primarily about friendship, investment of effort and a lot of love."

The Raanana Children's Song Festival in its 16th consecutive year, is the initiative of Director of the Informal Education Administration, Mr. Zvi Kenig and produced by the department. It is a unique educational and professional event in Israel and its production is on a very high level.

Director of the Informal Education Administration, Mr. Zvi Kenig said that over 850 students take part in the event, participating in an educational showcase which exemplifies creativity, music, acting singing and fosters self confidence.

At this festive evening, performances were given by members of the "Dance School"; "Pninei Hasharon", "Efrochei Raanana" and "Hora Raanana" Dance Troupes and students of the Performing Arts School – Children's Studios and the Supplementary Education 2007 Performing Troupes.
