RAANANA CELEBRATES ITS 85TH ANNIVERSARY: RETURNING GLORY (CITRUS)  TO RAANANA.

As part of Raanana's celebration for its 85th anniversary, the Raanana Municipality will display giant statues of citrus fruits - in a campaign entitled "Returning Glory (Citrus) to Raanana".

The display is designed to take us back to Raanana's early days as a small settlement, when it was surrounded by orchards. It will be displayed from 25.3.07 to 31.3.07 at the Yad LaBanim Plaza. It will consist of giant statues of a woman, a house, a wagon with a donkey and an orange tree, connected by a lane of oranges. The statues, which will be three meters in height, will be made entirely of four tons of oranges and one ton of lemons.

The display will also include performances and events designed to capture the spirit of the historical period and the municipal legacy for the city's children and their families.

On Monday 19.3.07, the frames of the statues will be constructed in the Yad LaBanim Plaza, upon which the oranges and lemons will be hung. The public is invited to watch the preparation of this environmental project.
