Dear Parents,

A Raanana boy was sexually assaulted last night. The Israel police and Raanana's local security have heightened their surveillance throughout the city. The educational staff at all of Raanana's schools was briefed today and entered all the classes to speak with the students regarding this subject.

For the next few days, we ask you to be on alert.

Events such as these are likely to raise levels of anxiety and distress in all people, adults and children alike, even if they were not directly exposed to the crime. Encourage your children to talk to you about the subject (if they so wish), answer all of their questions and calm them down. This will enable them to maintain their sense of security, the belief in their own strength and will facilitate their normal functioning.

When necessary, please contact the Municipal Moked (hotline) 107 with any appropriate professional therapeutic and educational instructions.

(An emergency Moked is operated - 24 hours a day – by the Welfare Division and the Psychological Services - and may be contacted through the 107 Moked).

Likewise, it is important to remain in contact with your child's school regarding any questions.
