Last year, the foundation raised approximately NIS 700,000, including a contribution of 12 computers, and provided financial assistance for delegations to Poland, tuition fees and psychological treatments

The annual event, all the proceeds of which are donated to "Keren Roi Lo Echsar" – a foundation that assists needy students, will be held on Tuesday, 27.2.07, at 20:00 at Raanana's Yad LaBanim. Mayor Nahum Hofree, Jewish Agency Director Ze'ev Bielski and former IDF Chief Rabbi, Brigadier General (Res.) Yisrael Weiss will be in attendance.

The Keren Roi Lo Echsar Foundation was established by the Hassan Family, nine years ago (1998), in memory of their son, Roi Hassan, of blessed memory, who was killed in a car accident during his army service. The association assists Raanana's needy students in various fields, including: financial assistance for the purchase of textbooks; school trips; delegations to Poland; didactic psychological evaluations; summer camps; extracurricular activities; hot lunches at daycare programs; clothing and shoes; furniture; computers; medical equipment; medical treatments, etc.

Since its inception, Keren Roi Lo Echsar has provided needy students with financial assistance totaling more than three million shekels. Last year, the assistance came to approximately NIS 700,000, including 12 computers - as part of the "Equal Opportunity" Project. It financed delegations to Poland, tuition fees and psychological treatments.

Mayor Nahum Hofree calls upon the city's residents to participate in this important mission and to contribute to Keren Roi: "In these times, when the word "shortage" has become the plight of many families across the country, and also in Raanana, it is imperative for us all to give of ourselves, to assist, help and support those who are in need. It is our duty to look after our future generation, the young people of today, who will lead us into the future."

At the event, there will be performances by singers Shai Gabso and Momi Levi; standup comedian, Roni Shoshan; ""Galgal B'Maagal" – Raanana's disabled dance Troupe whose dancers perform on wheelchairs together with non-disabled dancers; the Hora Raanana Troupe and the Raanana Youth Orchestra, conducted by Mr. Danny Donner.
