: THE RAANANA MUNICIPALITY IMPLEMENTS THE MUNICIPAL ACCESSIBILITY PROGRAM:
An elevator will be installed at Raanana's City Hall on Ahuza Street, for the convenience of the residents.
Construction work began this week and will take a number of months to complete
Last week, the Raanana Municipality began work to install an elevator in the central city hall building on Ahuza Street. The elevator will be adapted to serve the city's residents, including people with disabilities, senior citizens and parents with infants in order to provide them with an easier way to reach the building's second floor.
Mayor Nahum Hofree: "Raanana is one of the leading cities in Israel in the area of access and safety. The subject of the accessibility of the municipal facilities for the welfare of the residents is one of the central issues in the municipality's infrastructure projects The installation of the elevator will enable all residents to more easily access the municipal offices."
The elevator will be installed in the area between the city hall and the Great Synagogue, and the construction work is scheduled to last several months. During the construction period, entrance to the city hall will be through the front entrance to the City Hall on Ahuza Street only.
